If you have never heard of Benefon you aren't necessarily ignorant, it simply is a company that isn't as famous as its big rivals Nokia, Siemens or Ericsson.
Benefon is a Finnish company and has recently tried to find a niche in the market with the Benefon Q Chrome.
The Benefon Q Chrome is only the second model from Benefon after the Benefon Twin. With its up market price and its high-quality features the Benefon Q Chrome definitely belongs in the upscale segment of the market.
Already the design of the Benefon Q Chrome has an elegant touch, and unlike other manufacturers the company from the North doesn't use the common plastic for the case but quality metal with a silver touch instead. This appearance adds to the exclusive style of the Benefon Q Chrome.
However, to keep the Benefon Q Chrome lightweight the back of the case and the battery are made of plastic. Because of that the Benefon Q Chrome can confirm its reputation of being one if the lightest model. Measuring 12 cm in length and 4,5 cm in width the Benefon Q Chrome weighs only 89 g.
The quality of the keypad is very convincing as well, also in silver to go with the case.
The keys of the Benefon Q Chrome have a comfortable size and are easy to use. The structure of the menu of the Benefon Q Chrome is just moderately logic, and only aided by small graphic icons. Some of the commands entered with one of the three softkeys cause a very slow reaction of the Benefon Q Chrome, and sometimes none at all so you have to repeat it.
Due to the good keypad of the Benefon Q Chrome and the T9-software writing SMS is a smooth process. The only problem is the size of the space-key, which is so small you will have trouble using it.
Like every mobile in its class the Benefon Q Chrome has a vibratory alert, but it is too weak. Personally I use one of the 39 ringer tones that are included in the Benefon Q Chrome, but one melody can be composed and saved by the user.
A new feature in the Benefon Q Chrome is the profile function, which enables you to adjust everything from SMS to illumination to your personal settings.
There aren't many mobile phones that offer such a variety of settings as the Benefon Q Chrome. The alarm clock of the Benefon Q Chrome for example can be set to any number of days of the week. And you have the chance to let of some steam with one of the 3 games of the Benefon Q Chrome.
The Benefon Q Chrome is a hand phone that should be especially favorable as a business phone, as it comes with a W@P-browser, the Mobile-Explorer from Microsoft which enables the use of html-sites. Of course the Benefon Q Chrome, a true business phone, has an e-mail function with excellent quality of transmission.
A real drawback is the battery of the Benefon Q Chrome which has a standby time of only 100 hours, not enough in my opinion. Even less satisfying is the talk time of just 3 hours.
My conclusion about the Benefon Q Chrome:
A very extraordinary model from high up North. The Benefon Q Chrome is of high quality, inside and outside, and except for the shortcoming of the battery and a few other little things I have nothing to criticize about the Benefon Q Chrome.
The Benefon Q Chrome is in my opinion a true high-class mobile phone and I’m eagerly awaiting the new inventions in the hand phone sector from Benefon.
I guess that the Benefon Q Chrome's successor will surprise us even more, I’m looking forward to it.
