Since I needed a new phone, I got my friend's Philips Azalis 238 while he was on vacation so I could try it out. I was exalted. The equipment of Philips Azalis 238 is extraordinary; its design is eye-catching, although Philips Azalis 238 is a little broad. The screen of Philips Azalis 238 is humongous; the icons on it can be read without any effort.
The menu of Philips Azalis 238 will be understood right away, since it is very well arranged. Weighing only 90 g, Philips Azalis 238 is really light.
The battery of Philips Azalis 238 will last forever - if you make few calls, that is. Of course, Philips Azalis 238 has also got vibration alert.
One of the reasons my friend recommended Philips Azalis 238 to me was its WAP capability. Personally, I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure surfing the net will be fun with such a big screen as Philips Azalis 238's.
Philips Azalis 238's SMS function is easily used; only the T9 predictive text function of Philips Azalis 238 makes writing SMS more difficult instead of easier...The instruction manual doesn't help with problems concerning T9.
Unfortunately, Philips Azalis 238 does not feature a hands free talking device.
Actually, there are no extras at all that come with Philips Azalis 238, except for a charging device. All equipment for Philips Azalis 238, such as a car charger and more, must be purchased separately.
Voice command works nicely with Philips Azalis 238, if you remember to speak loudly and clearly. Annoyingly, there is only memory for three voice commands and one phonebook entry. This is enough for me, but might not be sufficient for business use.
Philips Azalis 238 is manufactured pretty well, but will scratch within weeks. Maybe (blue) plastic isn't the best material...
At first, it took me a while to answer calls, because I never knew which button to use. I have figured it out by now, though...
If Philips Azalis 238 rings, you want to press the 'OK' button that is located underneath the menu control button.
If you want to make a call, you go to the submenu 'names', find the entry you need and press OK three times in total till Philips Azalis 238 finally dials the number.
Although it sounds complicated, one gets used to this peculiarity of Philips Azalis 238 rather quickly. Additional, the reception quality with Philips Azalis 238 is so good you won't complain about the difficulty making calls anymore.
The battery of Philips Azalis 238 is more than convincing: In stand - by mode, Philips Azalis 238 can survive 10-14 days! In addition, Philips Azalis 238's battery will be recharged in only two hours!
I was going to test Philips Azalis 238's capabilities abroad, but my pre-paid card wouldn't let me. Sorry, no first-hand information here!
Replying to SMS could have been designed easier on Philips Azalis 238. There is also a problem with receiving SMS: Philips Azalis 238 won't give you name or number of the person SMSing to you, which leads to confusion and - as in my case - disappointment.
I have to admit that Philips Azalis 238 is not flawless. Still, its advantages outbalance it disadvantages, and thus I can recommend Philips Azalis 238.
