Test report and technical data Samsung SGH N100
The Samsung SGH N100
Plus: very small w@p-mobile, integrated mailbox
Minus: only 100 telephone book entries possible
The Samsung SGH N100, a comfortable mobile!
Since I desperately wanted to have a mobile with a flap I went to a mobile phone shop and left it with the Samsung SGH N100.
The Samsung SGH N100 does not have a flap with a jump up mechanism, but a small and flat body which is really very robust and weighs 90 g. Several metal attachments next to the speaker and the flap make the Samsung SGH N100 look like a mobile of higher value. The keys are as well covered with metal and all in all they have a good pressure point.
When the sales man showed me the Samsung SGH N100, its looked very appealing to me. The film screen emphasizes this impression.
Since I use the Samsung SGH N100 for private matters only, I didn't really care about all those technical gadgetries. The Samsung SGH N100 had to have a great ease of use and standardized menu options.
The Samsung SGH N100 accomplishes all these demands: The individual menu options can be accessed via a specific digit code. The navigation in the Samsung SGH N100 takes place via a up-and-down-key and two soft keys. Messaging is assisted by T9 text input.
As standard features the Samsung SGH N100 possesses: an alarm clock, a calendar, a to-do list, eleven games, a calculator and a time zone displayer.
The technical highlight of the Samsung SGH N100 is its w@p-browser with five different profiles that can be saved. Over and above that a voicedialing function for 20 entries and an integrated mailbox, which helps saving money. There are already two preconfigured announcements and each has a length of 35 sec.
For composers-to-be the Samsung SGH N100 features a melody-manager and the further music offer of the Samsung SGH N100 are 50 ringer tones and 10 messages tones.
The battery performance of the Samsung SGH N100 is better than that of many other Samsung mobiles, it has 3,5 min talk time and 150 hours stand-by time.
Real technology-freaks will be lacking a infrared connection with the Samsung SGH N100 and a MP-3 Player. As I said, these features were no issue to me when purchasing the Samsung SGH N100.
Even the red-haired sales man who wanted to sell me some of those blatant new mobile phones for a lot of money, couldn't prevent me from buying the Samsung SGH N100. - And until today I have not regretted my decision a single minute.
