Hi,
at some point I just had nothing but trouble with my old Siemens C35. It's battery was running empty quickly and the display was malfunctioning, too.
I had to get a new mobile phone, even though I wasn't having a lot of money at that time.
A friend suggested buying it in an internet auction from a little known company, as they are cheaper and have better value for money.
After looking around everywhere I got to Alcatel. I used to be rather skeptical of Alcatel products, compared to other manufacturers like Nokia and Siemens. But the Alcatel One Touch 511 completely changed my mind!!!
The Alcatel One Touch 511 really doesn't have to hide from the competition.
The Alcatel One Touch 511 has a very good sound quality and the design of the Alcatel One Touch 511 has really improved, compared to older Alcatel models. The Alcatel One Touch 511 is even smaller in size than many current Nokia models.
The Alcatel One Touch 511 is equipped with voice controlled dialing with which you can instantly call one of 50 numbers simply by saying the name. For similar sounding names alternatives should be found though, or the Alcatel One Touch 511 might call the wrong one.
The Alcatel One Touch 511 has an integrated hands-free function. That is an advantage of the Alcatel One Touch 511 over models of manufacturers like Siemens and Nokia. A lengthy button located on the side of the Alcatel One Touch 511 is for recording memos of max. two minutes with very good play-back quality.
Different logos and polyphonic ringer tones can be downloaded with the Alcatel One Touch 511 easily. Ringer tones can also be composed by the user. The large memory of the Alcatel One Touch 511 is very good for playful features like these.
In spite of me constantly using it, the memory of the Alcatel One Touch 511 isn't full yet.
But there is no mobile phone without a drawback. What is really bothering me about the Alcatel One Touch 511 is its extremely slow address book. With the Alcatel One Touch 511 it takes a huge amount of time for just loading the list and getting to the desired entry.
It takes around 10-20 sec. to get the first name with the right first letter on your display of the Alcatel One Touch 511.
The second disadvantage of the Alcatel One Touch 511 is the SMS function. One SMS can only consist of up to 160 characters. While other phones like the Sagem 3026 just stop there the Alcatel One Touch 511 just continues with a second SMS, but without indicating this in any way.
This means that in some cases the Alcatel One Touch 511 will send more than one SMS, only showing it shortly before sending through the info: "Send 2/3/.... messages?".
During writing you can't see how many characters are left in the SMS, and if you just wrote one or ten of them.
But the Alcatel One Touch 511 has many qualities to compensate for the little mistakes.
I can generally recommend the Alcatel One Touch 511.
