I ordered the Alcatel One Touch 715 through a dealer who's a friend of mine a few weeks ago. Because I'm very busy I just had to trust his promise that the Alcatel One Touch 715 would fit me. Two days ago the Alcatel One Touch 715 was finally delivered to my address. After taking the Alcatel One Touch 715 from its stylish packaging I was positively surprised by the tasteful retro-style of the Alcatel One Touch 715.
The Alcatel One Touch 715 would fit perfectly into the cockpit of an old 70s US road cruiser, and that's what you associate the design of the Alcatel One Touch 715 with. The big, blue display of the Alcatel One Touch 715 makes it appear somewhat longish. The display of the Alcatel One Touch 715 has room for 10 lines and be used across as well, due to its lengthy shape, which is very convenient with games and the organizer. An advantage that is more and more used by manufacturers in the PDA-sector for the development of new products.
Instead of a metal case the Alcatel One Touch 715 has one made of metal-like high quality plastic. When you switch on the Alcatel One Touch 715 you will at first be surprised by the big animation that appears on the display accompanied by polyphonic sounds. After entering the PIN the actual menu appears on the screen, along with time and date. The start-up screen of the Alcatel One Touch 715 can be individually changed; even animated graphics can be shown.
The Alcatel One Touch 715 is the successor of the Alcatel One Touch 701 and outdoes the older version with an even larger variation of organizer functions. To-do lists, GPRS, polyphonic ringer tones, EMS and an infrared-interface are also included. The organizer of the Alcatel One Touch 715 is a real big hit, like already its predecessor's: 800 addresses with up to 23 entries per name, max. 1000 appointments with alarm function and the possibility to divide the phone book into 15 groups.
The voice memo-feature of the Alcatel One Touch 715 records messages of max. one minute, which can also be used as ringer tone. Voice control and voice-dialing work very well in the Alcatel One Touch 715, and I wouldn't want to do without them anymore. Unlike other hand phones the memory of the Alcatel One Touch 715 has a big capacity of 560 KB for tones, pictures etc.
Going online with the Alcatel One Touch 715 is supported by GPRS, which is faster than the common W@P and allows you to see the costs through a counter. Luckily the Alcatel One Touch 715 finally has an infrared-interface so you can synchronize your organizer with your PC. Of course you can go online with the Alcatel One Touch 715 via its integrated modem or the IrDA-interface, to check your e-mails.
Although the Alcatel One Touch 715 primarily is a business hand phone there are a few fun factors: you can upload photos, create own backgrounds, download ringer tones from the net or compose them yourself. In addition Alcatel has integrated games in the Alcatel One Touch 715, trendily developed with a game producer.
The Alcatel One Touch 715 really is a high quality hand phone, not only attractive because of its design. But, like any mobile, even the Alcatel One Touch 715 has a few drawbacks: no color display, no Bluetooth function and not Java-compatible. "Nobody is perfect!"
Nevertheless the Alcatel One Touch 715 is a real buying tip and I can recommend it. First because it is absolutely suitable for business, second because it has every feature you might need in your free time and third because of its extraordinary, flashy design.
