Test report and technical data Siemens A35
The Siemens A35, simply making phone calls without a lot of features, yet including all what it needs in the end...and all that for a hand-full of money.
Positive aspects: value for money, user-friendliness
Negative aspects: very little features, weak battery
During the last two years I have managed to get rid of seven different cellular phones, since I either lost them, broke them or they were stolen from me.
Thus I made the decision to only be buying the simplest cellular phones in my near future in order to prevent further negative experiences or at least to reduce the financial damage of another possible loss.
However I did not want to do without quality, that's why I went out looking for a simple model, which would still fulfil my three major claims: being perfectly able to make phone calls, easily being reached via cellular phone and simple messaging. That's how I found my Siemens A35, which I have owned for quite some time by now.
Since the Siemens A35 is pretty small with a height of only about 120 cm, one does not need to be surprised that it is so very handy and light. The Siemens A35 is offered with exchangeable covers (CLIPits), which are available in two different colours, blue and silver. The users' individual wishes can hereby be respected easily. The keys of the Siemens A35 is simple to be handled, they are equipped with well-legible symbols. Although the display of the Siemens A35 has the size of three lines only, appearing to be quite tiny in comparison to other cellular phones, it is still sufficient.
The display shows the state of the battery, the intensity of the network signal, day/time and in addition to that you can find a direct link to the main menu of the Siemens A35.
The operation of the Siemens A35 is extremely easy, hereby making the Siemens A35 so very user-friendly.
The user especially profits from the reduction of the menu down to the basics, since it is almost impossible to get confused when accessing the menu of the Siemens A35. Handling the Siemens A35 is therefore even made possible for the greatest cellular-phone-amateurs.
The telephone book of the Siemens A35 covers up to 100 entries, however when regarding the messaging function, the Siemens A35 strongly lacks one major feature, the T9 text input. This feature has become a standard for just any cellular phone by now and should therefore be included as well in the Siemens A35, regrettably it's not.
The technical data of the Siemens A35 is precisely what you expect from a simple, however well functioning cellular phone.
The Dual Band Siemens A35 has appropriate dimensions and does count to the group of the smaller-ranged cellular phones. Adding up to this is the weight of about 120 g only.
The Siemens A35 has a stand-by time between 60 and 150 hours and the actual talk time reaches up to 4 hours.
With your Siemens A35 you have the possibilty of choosing between 15 ringing tones and the Siemens A35 as well includes a quick-dial function.
Yet, as mentioned above, the Siemens A35 lacks the important T9 intelligent typing, which simplifies message-writing, an alarm function and the absolutely standardized vibratory alert.
Can a user however do without those 'luxurious' features, one can call himself/herself well satisfied with the Siemens A35.
The reception quality of the Siemens A35 is up-to-date, I have not made any negative experience in that field with my Siemens A35 so far. It is rather surprising that a cellular phone that simple is actually capable of competing with many more sophisticated cellular phones in that area.
The sound quality of the Siemens A35 is similar to its reception quality, allowing to suspect that the Siemens A35 might be of the same quality as many more expensive cellular phones.
As well the sound quality as the reception quality of the Siemens A35 are no reason at all to be settling down for another phone type.
The buyer of a Siemens A35 needs to be aware of the fact that the Siemens A35 is predominantely meant to make phone-calls with, to be easily reachable and to have the possibility of sending messages.
Being 'mobile' for little money, that's what the Siemens A35 opens the gate to.
The 'value for money' of the Siemens A35 is something that has to be mentioned over and over again, since it can be verified in every aspect. The Siemens A35 is the most suitable cellular phone for all those of you, who long for a well-functioning cellular phone of good quality, however do not want to invest horrendous sums in their cellular phone.
