    Test report and technical data Siemens A36

    An average, yet reliable phone, the robust Siemens A36.

    Advantages: simple operation, low price, robustness

    Disadvantages: weak battery, very few features

    Since I had to send in my old cell phone to its producer due to maintenance reasons, I was equipped with an Siemens A36 for that period. I used the Siemens A36 for about two weeks and learned a lot, good and bad things, about that modell in the short time and now I would like to share my experience with you...

    The Siemens A36 is a smaller-sized mobile phone, which is equipped with an antenna and is only offered in black colour. The Siemens A36 weighs about 120 g and does count to the lighter ranged cell phones, however it would be exaggerated to say it barely weighs a thing.

    The exact size of the Siemens A36 is as follows; 155x87x27 mm. It needs to be mentioned though that the only two-lined screen does not take in too much of these dimensions. It surely is a great challenge to perceive objects on the display of the Siemens A36 from a distance.

    All in all the design is very plain, however exactly this fact makes the Siemens A36 so enormously robust. The keys of the Siemens A36 are of average quality and since they are not built too tiny they are easy to be used.

    Regarding its ease of use, the Siemens A36 now scores quite well. The menu is reduced to the essentials only, herewith making it extremely easy to use. Really just any user should be able to operate the Siemens A36 without having to take a glance at the user-guide in advance.

    The order of menu is well structured and therefore simple to be understood, however you will neither encounter nice graphics nor impressive effects when scrolling through the menu. Since the Siemens A36 lacks most of the modern features, the Siemens A36 proves to be an easy-to-be-operated cell phone.

    The technical data of the Siemens A36 are surely not too overwhelming, but they are in any case sufficient for the features of the Siemens A36.

    The stand-by time of the Siemens A36 reaches up to 150 hours, a standard stand-by time, and the actual talk time reaches up to four hours. However the battery of the Siemens A36 is not really built strong enough, thus you should always remember to charge your Siemens A36 in time. If you once do so, you will be surprised how quick the battery will be fully charged again.

    The telephone book covers up to 150 entries and one is able to save up to 15 messages in the inbox of the Siemens A36.

    When choosing a ringing tone, the user has the option between 15 different melodies.

    Regrettably the list of features which are not included in the Siemens A36 is longer than the list of features which are in fact covered.

    Several of the missing functions are the T9 text input for easy messaging, a vibration alert, an alarm, a calendar and a calculator. All these missing features are however of a greater importance to me, at least I do make regular use of these components.

    I can not report anything negative about the reception quality of the Siemens A36, at least I have not made any bad experience with the Siemens A36.

    Regarding the sound quality of the Siemens A36, a similar statement can be made. These two aspects of the Siemens A36 are not any different from what I have seen with other mobile phones, I could not make out a noticeable difference.

    I have only used the Siemens A36 for about two weeks and what I can tell is, that the Siemens A36 is very suitable as a spare-model, however I strongly need to doubt that I would actually buy myself a Siemens A36. My claims to a cell phone are more than the Siemens A36 offers, since I am missing too many essential features. The person however who does not need such features should definately consider the Siemens A36, since its performance as that is of good quality, especially in regard to its low price. There is absolutely nothing to complain about when merely regaring the performance of the Siemens A36, in any case one can rely on the Siemens A36 and in addition to that it is simple to be operated. Who values these two aspects the most has chosen the right mobile phone when buying the Siemens A36.

    Test-review of the Siemens A36:

    Ease of use: ++++

    Battery stand-by time: ++
