Test report and technical data Siemens CL50

Siemens CL50 - A solid mobile for slackers and workaholics

    Siemens CL50

Positive about the Siemens CL50: light, fold-away mobile

Negative about the Siemens CL50: no colour display, no dictaphone

    Typical Siemens. Or maybe not?

In any case does the long-established high-tech forge launch a great mobile with the Siemens CL50. The Siemens CL50 is the first fold-away mobile ever from the German manufacturer, believe it or not!

Quite evidently Siemens did give it some time to finally develop a fold-away mobile with the Siemens CL50. They took a close look at the market, at other products and then they struck with a combination of dynamic and style. They came, saw and prevailed with the Siemens CL50.

Extensive organiser functions of the Siemens CL50, covering EMS, WAP and OTA-Download, allow the workaholics to appear relaxed and the slackers to appear busy.

The Siemens CL50 is equipped with two screens, one on the inside, the other one on the outside. Both of them glimmer in deep blue. On the outside screen information on date, time and user-ID is legible.

The Siemens CL50 is the little dream everyone of us had, when we grew out of our toddler-years. The silver Siemens CL50 resembles those little matchbox-cars we used to store in our tiny pockets and the Siemens CL50 can be stored just the very same way since it not only barely weighs a thing, but its dimensions of 73 x 39 x 22 mm easily allow that kind of transportation. Well, too nice to be true, coz sadly the Siemens CL50 costs a bit more than a matchbox-car.

With a stand-by time of 220 hours the Siemens CL50 is serviceable for a really long time.

100 entries can be entered in the telephone book of the Siemens CL50. A non-stop phone call of 4:30 hours is also possible with the Siemens CL50.

The Siemens CL50 does without unnecessary knickknack, thus no IrDA-interface, no camera, no modem and no TriBand.

The Siemens CL50 just isn't some kind of show-off device. But once u hold the Siemens CL50 in your hands, it lies really good there. Almost cool, the way the Siemens CL50 adjusts to your palm. Cool not only the way the silver device adjusts, but also cool the way it looks. Blue display and silver body of the Siemens CL50 seem to be responsible for that. The deep blue screen with a size of 64 x 112 mm in a fold-away flap almost make an amphitheatrical impression. Right beneath the screen is the keypad of the Siemens CL50. All keys have an appropriate distance from one another. Very comfortable in its handling, the Siemens CL50.

Coz the Siemens CL50 exists to make calls with. Where? Wearing a suit at the bus stop, in the bathing suit at the Costa Brava, in the cosy jeans at home, in St. Moritz while skiing? Everywhere!

The Siemens CL50 has passed the test. The Siemens CL50 combines usefulness with a convenient, discreet design, the Siemens CL50 is incomplex and tailored to all essential needs.

Someone did some thinking before producing the Siemens CL50, a great mobile, no experiment, pure calculation. The Siemens CL50 is something for him and her. U will feel comfortable owning the Siemens CL50 in any case. These are the advantages of the Siemens, which label the modern classic mobile.

But even nice mobiles have their less pleasant sides.

The Siemens CL50 for example lacks a dictaphone. As I said, the Siemens CL50 boils everything down to the essentials. U'll have to do without voice-dailing, same with a PC-connection cable. And the colour of the screen will always be blue, don't try to change it, there's no other colour.

Surely the Siemens CL50 does count among the robust mobiles, despite of its lightness. Siemens demonstrated its robustness already many, many times in former models. Solid batteries are another plus of just any Siemens mobile!
