Siemens tried to introduce the Siemens SL45 as a 'business mobile phone' to the market, yet I dare to say that the Siemens SL45 actually is anything but a 'business mobile' since it features so many functions that are rather entertaining than business enhancing. Using the Siemens SL45 for business reasons only does call for quite some self-discipline.
Design-wise the Siemens SL45 looks incredible modern and extravagant which is predominantly evoked by its entirely silver colour. Having an antenna that is not yet integrated in the body of the Siemens SL45 does not bother me too much, however it to be blamed for the longer height of the Siemens SL45, its dimensions are 105x44x17 mm. The weight of the Siemens SL45 mounts up to about a 100 g, not all too much, thus calling the Siemens SL45 small and handy is indeed justified.
The screen of the Siemens SL45 covers an area of seven lines at in glows in a yellow colour and the resolution of the screen of the Siemens SL45 is quite high.
Combining so many features makes it a miracle that the Siemens SL45 is still to be operated easily. The menu is clearly outlined and the user doesn't get lost in the enormous mass of options. Quite an achievement of the Siemens developer!
The most interesting part about the Siemens SL45 is its technical performance. However I won't be able to enlist all the features that the Siemens SL34 covers since it would take ages.
The battery of the Siemens SL45 is a lithium-ion-battery. Regrettably, the performance of the battery is not all too good, it has a tiny stand-by time of 170 hours and talk time of four hours only. What makes it all worse it, that this deficit of the Siemens SL45 is not only a great disadvantage for the talking, but a even greater disadvantage for the MP-3 Player. The battery will be all empty after a very short time.
The idea of integrating a MP-3 Player in the Siemens SL45 is an innovative idea and I do make regular use of this feature. However the battery performance should be adjusted to a regular MP-3 Player use as well.
Common standards such as alarm clock, calculator, T9 text input, numerous games and ringer tones are of course as well part of the Siemens SL45. In regard to all the other features those standards however to not deserve too much attention.
Further features are the an extensive organizer, which has a similar performance as a 'palm'. Same with the telephone book of the Siemens SL45, which holds up to 500 entries that can be adjusted with detailed information on each and every entry.
Of course the Siemens SL45 is capable of accessing the internet and for a better use of this feature the Siemens SL45 can be connected to a PC which enormously simplifies the data transfer. A lack of the feature however is, that the data transfer takes a really long, long time.
In terms of messaging the Siemens SL45 has one great advantage, it possesses an archive which can cover so very many entries that I'm not really sure if there actually is a limit to that.
In regard to all these impressing features it is not too surprising that the reception quality of the Siemens SL45 is of a very good quality as well. The very same can be said about the sound quality, not problems to be found in that area, the sound is always very, very clear.
I am an excited user of the Siemens SL45, since it convinces me so very much with its performance, extensive and well-though-through extras. The high quality combined with the design and the endless offer of gadgetries impress me to the most!
