Test report and technical data LG 510
The LG 510 - The world goes down in style! Only decadence will survive due to the LG 510....
Plus of the LG 510: design, weight, extra-long SMS-fun
Minus of the LG 510: short standby time, no surf-possibility
With an ideal weight of only 79 g the LG 510 is a real achiever among hand phones and the like. With the LG 510 LG Electronics is obviously in touch with its esthetic side. The first optical impression isn't everything of course, but still I instantly fell in love with the silver-flickering LG 510.
Very cool:
The flap-mechanism of the LG 510 works like clockwork and I find the handy, silver surface of the LG 510 (also available in cobalt blue and anthracite) very comfortable. The case of the LG 510 is properly finished and additionally has a few cute details like posh chrome ornaments and a big chrome-plated, egg-shaped LG-emblem in the center of the LG 510.
The acoustics of the LG 510 massage your ear-drum with nice polyphonic ringer tones. Although they sound somewhat blurred and everyone hates the LG 510 for it, I think the distorted sound of the LG 510 is incredibly cool. I composed 'You can always get what you want' from the 'Stoned Jaggers' with the melody-editor at once.
The LG 510 is really well finished by the way, the covers of the LG 510 don't show any traces of smoke, unlike everything else around me that is covered in a yellowish coating. So what! It wouldn't bother me if it were the same with the LG 510.
I don't know how much the LG 510 really costs, but I think it's pretty much.
The reception of the LG 510 exceptionally good under every circumstance and when I’m fed up with the whole world again I just set the LG 510 to vibratory alarm.
I don’t need the LG 510 for surfing or chatting anyway, so it's okay that the LG 510 doesn't have these features.
A powerful 14.4 kbits modem is integrated in the LG 510 of course, but I’m not one those cyber-nerds. But operating the LG 510 is very clear; it can be handled intuitively with input assistance.
Great blue display of the LG 510 by the way, glaring colors with contrast control.
Well, the standby time is a delicate aspect of the LG 510: the manufacturer is lying a little, stating 150 hours. If have never achieved that, it’s probably only possible if you leave the LG 510 alone for the whole time. If you use the LG 510 frequently the battery (a Li-Po- f****d up battery!) will have to be recharged after about 70 hours, but that only takes a record-breaking 1,5 hours.
Still, it bugs me.
Here's the verdict of the LG 510, pardon not granted!
