Test report and technical data Telit G80
Telit G80: More than one can ever expect from a cellular phone
Pros of Telit G80: design, sending and receiving efficiency
Cons of Telit G80: no TFT screen, easily scratched case
Ciao bella,
Have you had a look on my new mobile yet? No? So listen up now! Telit G80 is no ordinary cell phone. It has been manufactured in beautiful Italy. (You know I only buy Italian products, such as Segafredo coffee). Telit G80 is a real piece of artwork.
It only weighs 96 g at a size of 104 x 60 x 23, but although it is quite small, it features a big screen with 65.536 colors and a resolution of 160 x 120 pixels. O.k., an active matrix display is unfortunately missing, but besides this, the Italian product is very convincing. Telit G80 also has an ergonomically arranged keypad that responses quickly to all inputs. The internal antenna of Telit G80 contributes to its stylish look.
When I purchased Telit G80, it was of great importance to me that it would be easy to handle. Well, Telit G80 kept this promise. Too bad that the hard cover is not of a better quality. It is scratched too easily. A suggestion to the manufacturer: Maybe you should use leather instead of cheap plastic since leather actually does look nicer the more used it is!
Enough about looks, though! Telit G80's equipment and its flawless functionality are more sensational.
Telit G80 features some graphical highlights, such as animations based on user interface and a menu that can be, for a quicker navigation, individually arranged. The fact that Telit G80's sound quality is compensated for by its good sending and receiving skills in spite of its internal antenna. Whenever Telit G80 rings, though, I am somehow reminded of these crappy speakers they tend to have in Italian beach bars.
For Telit G80 is a TriBand device, it will work best for the frequency domains GSM 900 and 1800. How well Telit G80 is working overseas I did not experience so far, though.
Telit G80's battery deserves to be pointed out explicitly since it is actually apt to put up with my talkativeness, and that means a lot! Thanks to its lithium ion battery, Telit G80 provides me with a maximum of independence. I wish I only had to put gas in my Fiat whenever I charge my phone!
When you come back home after buying Telit G80 and it is sitting on the table, you will surely not be disappointed: A travel battery makes you want to go right back to Italy. I guess Telit G80 would even work better in its home country...I will go and find out soon. But then, I might miss it a little to hear about Telit G80's creative design, which happens to me in Germany quite frequently.
Well, bella, I hope I could turn you into an obsessed Telit G80 fan like I am myself.
See you soon.
