Test report and technical data T-Mobile SPVX
An insider tip: T-Mobile SPVX
Pros of T-Mobile SPVX: highly resolving color screen, media player
Cons of T-Mobile SPVX: weight, keys close together
Few people have heard about T-Mobile SPVX yet. T-Mobile SPVX is a so called smart phone that is processed by Windows. Obviously, a device like T-Mobile SPVX cannot be European: It was manufactured by HTC in Taiwan. In Europe, the different providers come up with different names for T-Mobile SPVX, which makes it a little complicated.
I first saw T-Mobile SPVX at a press conference and I was so impressed. At first I could not say what kind of technical device T-Mobile SPVX actually is: It seems to have some of everything. Although T-Mobile SPVX measures 130 x 50 x 23 mm and weighs 130 (!) g, it is amazingly handy. The keys of T-Mobile SPVX are close to each other, but can still be used well. Supposedly the five-way navigation button is meant to simplify the handling of T-Mobile SPVX. Yet here is some room for improvement.
The most eye catching detail is T-Mobile SPVX's huge TFT display with 65.536 colors and a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. Wow!
The center of all its functions is T-Mobile SPVX's Outlook function. The latter assists you at viewing your e-mail accounts. Furthermore, calendar, contacts, a to-do list and voice sequences can be managed in T-Mobile SPVX's Outlook. Of course one can dub all of T-Mobile SPVX’s data with PCs and other PDAs.
Adding to this, T-Mobile SPVX features USB and infra red interfaces, a RS232 cable and GPRS.
Due to the integrated internet explorer, handling the net is no problem. T-Mobile SPVX's internet explorer is supported by HTML, java technology, a WAP browser and SSL. But all of the above do not make T-Mobile SPVX a smart phone yet; so T-Mobile SPVX features an integrated media player for MP3s and video sequences.
MMS is one of T-Mobile SPVX's easiest tricks: One can actually take the pictures one wants to send with T-Mobile SPVX's integrated camera!
To make sure there is enough memory capacity for all the multimedia data, T-Mobile SPVX comes with a multimedia card slot.
It is not known yet when T-Mobile SPVX will hit the German market. In England it is sold for a reasonable price already. We can hope!
