Test report and technical data Trium Aria
Trium Aria black - Mitsubishi under cover
Pros of Trium Aria: reception quality
Cons of Trium Aria: sound quality, no infra red interface, no modem
Hello there,
lately I have been checking out web sites such as cheapskate.com. This way I became acquainted with Trium Aria, a by Mitsubishi manufactured device. Let me anticipate my opinion right away:
I am glad I received Trium Aria as a gift; otherwise I would have been highly disappointed!
One of Trium Aria's few advantages is that one can give different ringing tones to numbers saved on the SIM card than to the ones in the phone book.
My auntie asked the other day, why many of today's phones feature a '@' in their names. I explained that these devices provide a WAP browser, like Trium Aria, so one can surf the net. Recently, Trium Aria and I visited this aunt (who happens to be old and wealthy) and she complained that the Telecom had cut off her fixed network connection for no reason.
This was the chance to demonstrate my love and inheriting ability to my aunt. So I called the Telecom from Trium Aria. I have to admit that its reception quality turned out to be rather convincing. Even where I was (way out in the country) I had almost perfect reception due to Trium Aria's long sensitive antenna.
My aunt was impressed with Trium Aria's sound quality, so I gave it to her spontaneously. Trium Aria will come back to me some day anyway.
When I called the Telecom I was quite happy to find out that they did not disconnect her fixed line because she was unable to pay her bills. Relieved as I was, I gave Trium Aria to my aunt.
Trium Aria is not apt for professionals like me anyway. First, Trium Aria does not have an infra red interface and second, one has to get an extra soft modem to transfer data with Trium Aria.
Furthermore, Trium Aria only provides you with a stand - by time of ridiculous 100 hours and a talking time of four hours - when you are lucky!
Well, I am sure this will be enough for my old aunt! She should not use it too much in the first place or else my heritage will end up in phone bills and I will always be dependent on people to give me mobiles like Trium Aria that are recommended by cheapskate web sites!
The memory capacity of Trium Aria is rather cheap, too! One can only save 100 numbers in the phone book. Voice dial and voice command are not featured at all by Trium Aria; instead, it provides games, a calendar function, vibratory alert and T9 soft ware. Since the handling of Trium Aria is pretty difficult for such a simple device, auntie will not use Trium Aria a lot. By opening or closing the pretty flap of Trium Aria, one can neither answer nor end phone calls.
The rather cryptical writings on Trium Aria's keypad will probably kill auntie before my visits can. Maybe Mitsubishi employed former archeologists to design the keys.
Trium Aria's menu is great if you want to become a more patient person, since it seems to have been developed by a madman. The fact that you can only go through the menu in one direction when Trium Aria's flap is closed does not even matter anymore!
Concluding I would like to state how happy I am to have found a useful purpose for Trium Aria: My rich aunt was flattered.
