Test report and technical data Trium Geo
Can design compensate for disappointing technology and few features? Trium Geo
Pros of Trium Geo: ease of use, design
Cons of Trium Geo: weak battery, few features, dimensions, weight
Trium Geo really leaves a bad first impression. So I want to state its advantages first; otherwise nobody would ever show any interest for Trium Geo.
The design of Trium Geo is rather progressive and futuristic. This impression is supported by Trium Geo's curvy shape and its golden color. Actually, Trium Geo is a really good-looking mobile.
If you want this impression to last, only look at Trium Geo, but never ever touch it! Grabbing it for the first time, I was surprised by Trium Geo's weight of 150 g. Actually, the weight was to be expected, since Trium Geo has got dimensions that make it resemble a walkie-talkie more than a mobile phone: 135 x 49 x 26 mm!
Trium Geo's Ni-MH battery can be considered as impudence, since it will only last 150 hours in stand - by mode and less than four hours of talking time!
At least Trium Geo receives some credits for its ease of use. Soft keys, a well arranged screen and an easily understood menu are convincing here. A navigation button allows a simple handling of Trium Geo. Handling Trium Geo's keypad is possible flawlessly; mistyping will be exceptional with Trium Geo.
There are no eye catching or remarkable functions featured by Trium Geo. If you expect standard equipment, you might become disappointed. Apparently, the manufacturer of Trium Geo focused on ease of use and on the design; that's it.
There are only twelve ringing tones featured by Trium Geo, and these are not extensible. Leastwise, Trium Geo offers a calendar, an alarm function and voice mail.
Considering the SMS function of Trium Geo, T9 text construction software is really missing; writing messages will take a while with Trium Geo.
There is no extra phone book provided by Trium Geo. This means all entries must be saved on its SIM card.
If you are looking for a cell phone that is easy to use, and if you do not mind a heavy weight, and if you do not need any features, then Trium Geo might be perfect for you. It does not cost much, either. Alas, there are mobiles in the same price range that features a lot more.
So my advice is: Do not go for Trium Geo unless it is inevitable!
