Test report and technical data Trium Sirius
Trium Sirius - rather exceptional
Pros of Trium Sirius: small, light device, design
Cons of Trium Sirius: lower keypad hard to use because of flap
'I am Trium Sirius, and although I am so small, I stick out of the cell phone selection. Nobody knows me, but look at me, Trium Sirius, and be surprised!'
I guess if a mobile could talk, this is what Trium Sirius would say all the time. Trium Sirius has been on the market for a while, but I did not see it till now. It kind of looks like Calimero, that Cartoon-biddy, with its black color and the white display border.
Including its Lithium Ion battery, Trium Sirius only weighs 75 g. And Trium Sirius is just as small as light! You can actually put it in your pocket as a guy without looking funny.
So far, Trium has mainly produced devices for first-time users or these with little expectations, but Trium Sirius is different. Trium Sirius' WAP-function is awesome, especially since the mobile has got such a big screen, too. Other features are Trium Sirius' GPRS (max. 26.8 kbit/s), its fax modem and the integrated infra red interface. All of the above works just fine.
Trium Sirius has got two soft keys for a quicker access to its menu. With or without this option, Trium Sirius is easy to use, so I never had a closer look at its instruction manual.
New to me is Trium Sirius' function 'voice memo'. With it, you can record parts of a talk or extend your shopping list, while on the way to the store. Furthermore, Trium Sirius features voice mail. One can save up to 250 names and numbers in Trium Sirius' phone book.
The T9 text construction software makes the writing of SMS easier. This feature can be switched on or off by pressing only one button. Overall, the keypad of Trium Sirius is great to handle, except for the lowest row of keys that are hidden behind Trium Sirius' active flap. One just has to get used to it; it is really not bad.
Trium Sirius is a Dual Band device that provides a talking time of three hours and a battery stand - by time of 130 hours. Obviously, time and date are stated on Trium Sirius' display. Reception and sound quality of Trium Sirius are good.
I was suspicious at first, but now I am convinced: Trium Sirius simply is better than its predecessors!
