Test report and technical data Trium Galaxy
With Trium Galaxy into space
Pros of Trium Galaxy: reasonable price, solid, many features
Cons of Trium Galaxy: big, heavy, lose flap, no vibratory alert, problems with soft ware, no stating of time and date
'Hello. Trium Galaxy and I are in space in order to discover new worlds and new life. If you leave your number, I will come back to you as soon as I beamed myself down to earth again...'
This is what you will hear when you reach my mailbox. The message above was inspired by the name of Trium Galaxy, not by its design, which is everything but futuristic. Trium Galaxy weighs enormous 149 g at a size of 130 x 47 x 27 mm, which are not exactly modern dimensions.
The shape of Trium Galaxy reminds me of a bone with a flap. Maybe that is why dogs bark at me whenever I talk on the phone.
Trium Galaxy's antenna is extensible to a length of 110 mm; its keypad is sheltered by a so called passive flap. This means that Trium Galaxy's flap cannot be used to answer or end calls.
After getting some practice, the handling of Trium Galaxy is not much of a problem. Right under Trium Galaxy's screen, there is a button that allows four-way navigation. So the wanted features can be accessed rather quickly. Unfortunately, this control button of Trium Galaxy breaks easily.
Considering its low price, Trium Galaxy has got a lot of features. Up to 200 numbers and names can be saved in Trium Galaxy's phone book. One gets to choose one of twelve different ringing tones. Alas, there are no melody editor and no vibratory alert provided by Trium Galaxy.
Trium Galaxy's menu point 'office' contains a diary and calculators. Due to the T9 text construction software, one can write messages quickly. The software of Trium Galaxy runs not always flawless, but I can live with it.
The reception quality of Trium Galaxy is all right. But then I live in a city and did not have a chance so far to try the reception in a far-flung place. The sound quality of Trium Galaxy is fine. Trium Galaxy's battery will last 130 hours in stand - by mode. It will provide the user with two hours of talking time.
In spite of its reasonable price, I cannot fully recommend Trium Galaxy.
