Test report and technical data Motorola V100
Motorola V100 is rather remarkable; just its functionality leaves room for improvement
Pros of Motorola V100: good reception quality, improved keypad
Cons of Motorola V100: weak battery
Dear children,
have you ever wondered how father Motorola and mother V100 make Motorola V100?
I am just kidding. Still, I want to talk about Motorola V100 today.
My friend offered Motorola V100 to me and although I already had a mobile phone, I could not resist. This means a lot for I am usually not exactly crazy about cell phones.
Motorola V100 has got extraordinary qualities, especially its reception efficiency and sound quality. Yet I am not going to stick to Motorola V100 for a long time. I am still seeking for the perfect cell phone for myself, and I can tell you one thing:
Motorola V100 is not it.
Let me explain my decision to you.
Motorola V100's design tells it apart from other mobiles. Shaped like a miniature note book, Motorola V100 is actually quite attractive - except for its color! See-through, light blue, orange or green never look classy or professional.
Although Motorola V100 is one of the manufacturer's more simple devices, it features everything the normal user might need.
Unfortunately, Motorola V100 is lacking an infra red interface that is needed for the transfer of data. Just as Motorola V100's playful colors make believe, it is a device produced for the private use.
Special features like a phone conference function and such are not provided by Motorola V100.
Motorola V100's keypad deserves praise. Writing SMS and the viewing WITH Motorola V100's menu turn out to be user-friendly. Alas, the menu is badly arranged. The same is true for Motorola V100's instruction manual.
Eye catching to me was Motorola V100's stability. But the latter does not compensate for the fact that one will only have a good reception quality, when using the provided head phones. A normal call will be disrupted by a lot of noise. Using the head set though, the reception quality of Motorola V100 is hard to be beaten.
My expectations concerning a mobile's battery could not be fulfilled by Motorola V100. The manufacturer talks about a battery stand - by time of 180 hours for Motorola V100, but this is simply not true. Motorola V100's battery never lasts longer than three to four days. The charging time of Motorola V100's battery is three hours, which is sufficient.
Motorola V100 comes with the badly needed head set, a charger, a belt clip and an instruction manual that does not state Motorola V100's technical data.

To me, Motorola V100 is a remarkable device because you hardly ever see it in Germany. But since Motorola V100 is only average regarding its functionality, I do not really recommend it.
Maybe you will have more luck with Motorola V100.
