Installation von Debian

Hallo , bin erst neu in der Materie Linux.

Benötige ich alle 7 CD zum Installieren von Debian ?

Was ist der unterschied zwischen den Versionnen
I386 , PPC, Alpha und Sparc ?
Ich denke mal das ich den I386 brauchen werde.

nein, benötigen wirst du wohl kaum alle CDs. Die sind im grunde nur dafür da wenn du nicht alle Binary Packete die du installierst aus dem Netz ziehen willst. Ich empfehle dir eine der Stable Woody Minimal Cd's. So kannst du alles direkt übers Internet installieren was du brauchst. Das von Debian angebotene apt-get eigenet sich da sehr gut. Und bitte lass dich auch nicht abschrecken wenn hier jemand sagen sollte das Debian für den Start nicht sonderlich geeignet ist. Ich habe nicht anderst angefangen und bin froh darüber. Sehr schnell bin ich zu meinen persönlichen erfahrungen gekommen und konnte mein System schenll ausreifen. was das I386 , PPC, Alpha und Sparc angeht, das sind nur Prozessortypen. Wie in Apple PCs üblich PPC (Power PC) oder zb bei Intel Prozessoren i386. Da lagst du höchstwahrscheinlich Ganz richtig

schau am besten mal auf die Debian seite. Dort werden dir auch ausführliche Dokumentationen in allen Formaten und in allen Möglichen Sprachen geboten.

Naja werds wohl doch sein lassen. Hab Probleme bei der Installation :-(
Obwohl ich nachdem ich Knoppix drauf hatte neugierig auf Debian geworden bin. Mir währ nähmlich ganz lieb alle Instalationsmedien auf CD zu haben falls mal das Internet nicht zur Verfügung steht.

Habs jetzt soweit installiert bekommen. Nur nach der installation lande ich nur im Textmodus.

hab dann versucht startx zu starten. nach kurzer Zeit landete ich wieder im Textmodus ohne erfolg.

Wie komme ich in der Grafischen Benutzeroberfläche ?

mhh bin jetzt soweit das nach dem start von Debian, das
Bild kurz flackert und ich danach gefragt werde ob ich die KDE konfigurieren möchte. Jetzt ladet er die grafische Oberfläche und ich kann jetzt dien Monitor, Grafikkarte, Tastatur und Maus konfigurieren.
Alles soweit wunderbar nur die Maus will nicht. Gehe ich auf Maus konfigurieren verschwindet alles und mit Doppelklick (Tastaturmaus) offnet sich zwar ein Menu und ich komme dann über System und Gnome zu der Maus. Nur hier kann ich nur einstellen Mausklick und Empfindlichkeit. Mehr nicht. Wie bekomme ich meine Maus zum laufen und was muß ich hier noch alles einstellen. Hab übrigens eine serielle Maus.

versuch mal als root den befehl tasksel kannst das nötigste schon mal direkt installieren. xf86config sollte es dann standartmaessig auch geben. da kannst das grobe schonmal direkt via Menu konfigurieren damit dein x server wenigstens startet.

Hab mich als root angemeldet und die Fragen unter XF86config beantwortet. Aber startx läßt sich trotzdem nicht ausführen und unter xf86cfg steht immer eine PS2 Maus drinn obwohl ich eine Serialmaus habe :-(

Bin langsam am verzweifeln.

Wies scheint ist das dein einzigstes Problem. Wir sollten uns mal im IRC treffen und das Problem, manuell von hand beheben. Sollte kein großes Problem darstellen die Screens section anzupassen.

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86

Treiber Vesa, Monitor auf Medium Auflösung 640x480@60 HZ
Videomodus 640x480, 8Bit Module xtt entdernt.

und es funz.

Hab jetzt auch mal die testing-Version ausprobiert. Da ist das einrichten viel einfacher

Nur bei der Änderung der Schriftgroße im KDE 3.2.2 hängt sich der xserver auf.
