Linux will net starten

Distribution: SuSE Linux 9.1 Professional

PC: CPU: 488Mhz
RAM: 192MB
HDD: 30,7 GB

Folgendes Problem:

Hab schon 3-4 mal installiert. Festplatte mehrmals neu partitioniert ohne erfolg. System kann aber nicht starten und kurz, bevor die KDE gestartet wird kommt folgende Meldung:

VFS: Cannot open root device "hda2" or hda2
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on hda2

Partitionen wie folgt:

hda
hda1: SWAP 1,4GB
hda2: Reiser der rest...

hab es auch schon versucht, die Reiser Partition als hda1 zu machen. Boot-Loader einstellungen hab ich auch überprüft, alles richtig eingestellt.

Was nun?

versuch mal bei der kernel-append zeile beim bootloader "root=/dev/hda2" anzuhängen (ohne Gänsefüsse)
